For Drivers
Senior Technical Editor Paul Abelson spotted some nifty gifts at the recent Great American Trucking Show
At GATS, I found a men’s shampoo in a one-quart motor oil jug. Hound’s Head 10W30 Shampoo + is maplewood and tobacco oil scented and doubles as a body wash. It’s a cute gift or a great personal use item. Also from Hound’s Head are Grill Polish (toothpaste), Mouthwasher Fluid, Pit Stop (deodorant) and Skin Spackle (men’s hand lotion).

I also got a Key Chain Safety Tool from Houdini Tool Co. for every member of my family. Named for the great escape artist of the early 20th century, Harry Houdini, the multi-tool is designed to be handy when other escape tools are left in a glove box or a trunk. The Houdini tool clips on your key ring where a quick pull releases it. The tool has a safety seat belt cutter, recessed to avoid injury. There’s a spring-loaded punch to break side glass, and a whistle and LED light to be used in case rescuers have to locate you.
