TA Edinburg offers new dining options and more services
Drivers can fill their trucks and themselves at the TA Edinburg, Texas, which continues to grow in every direction.
Truckers with an appetite have the choice of chowing down at a new Tule Tree Legendary Burritos restaurant, or at the full-service Country Pride.
Tule Tree Legendary Burritos, which opened in December 2012, offers visitors the chance to create their own burritos, taco or meal in a bowl from an array of freshly prepared meats, veggies and toppings. Everything is made fresh to order. The Edinburg location is the first Tule Tree offering within the TA-branded chain, and is already very popular, says David Ventura, restaurant manager.
The Country Pride has been equally well-received, he adds, noting that its varied menu and 24-hour operations ensure that it can handle hungry truckers around the clock.
“We open the Tule Tree for breakfast at 7 a.m., and then begin serving lunch from 10 a.m. until we close at 9 p.m., so a lot of people can be served during its open hours,” Ventura says. “But the Country Pride is there 24 hours a day, so we are ready for visitors any time.”
Changes in store
“We recently installed a new fuel desk in our store that handles both store and fuel business,” says Joe Camacho, assistant manager-in-training. “I’m very proud of our cashiers, because they really can do everything.”
The store also has recently added a convenient grab-and-go bar that includes new soda and coffee machines.
There’s nothing like getting outdoors for a bit of exercise. Drivers are giving high fives to the location’s new basketball court, where a quick game of hoops can work up an appetite or work off a hearty meal.
Updates to the location will continue throughout the year. New showers are on tap for installation during 2013. The television room will be getting a makeover soon, too. Lot resurfacing is set to take place at some point in 2013.
“We’re steadily improving the services we have and adding new ones,” Camacho says. “We are well known for our great employees and our restaurants, store and facilities, so we think everything’s just going to keep getting better for our drivers.”
