I agree with John Simpson’s observation. Common, hard-working, everyday Americans need to run for office–not as Democrats or Republicans–as true Americans (genuine independents)! We need no more career politicians.
In 2012, Ohio is going to elect it’s own truck driving U.S. Senator: Scott Rupert. He runs his own business, rides a Harley, hates neckties, battles the IRS, scratches where it itches and says what he means. Talk about change: Washington can use people like this! Ben is also in our antique truck club. He is Ben to all of us and that was how he introduced himself to me 3 years ago when I stopped at a small gathering of the truck club. He talked to me for over a hour as Ben. He is as ordinary a man as any I’ve ever met, and as good a man as I know. This was a very good story. Thank you!

Want to know what’s wrong with politics? Look no further than the fact Senator Campbell was the “first and only national legislator to hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).” We need fewer talking heads and more hard-working Americans like Ben Campbell in Congress.

I use to ride with him some in the 1990s: HOG ft. wash.; toy runs, and Blue Knights, MD. He was a cool guy then and I imagine cool guy now.
