Remember the people who care for you on the road. Travel centers of America is making their staff sign up for a wage garnishment program in which they pay a fee for each shift worked in order to eat a meal. Otherwise they pay full price for all meals or beverages and they are at risk of being fired if they even drink a cup of coffee without paying. It typically was that they would allow all beverages to be free and 1 meal a day at 1/2 price. What makes Travel Centers of America think this is right? I hope the good wait staff are looking to go to a different job that still has hope and repect attached to its name.

First thing we have to do is quit singing to the choir. Magazines like this are great for keeping us updated on the industry, but who is getting the message out to the general public. Read an article about this year’s Highway Heroes as they received there awards at a banquet for Trucking Journalists! What happened to awarding them at the Dayton 500? Shows like Ice Road Truckers do both good and bad for the industry. We need to get behind something like the old TV shows such as Moving On and B J and the Bear. There are people who are writing books and stories about trucking that could help refurbish the image of our industry. Personally I have two out but getting them into even the truck stops is ridiculous. My books are listed below.

The democrats Health Care Reform seems to have missed a few things. Where does one file a complaint, make a suggestion, or commit about health care? And most health care providers no longer accepts just what the insurance companies pays them, they go after the patient for the rest. I had an over looked medical bill for $3.78 go to a collection agency. So tell me how Health Care reform is affordable.

Why is it that police officers once they get their training and in uniform don’t have to stay physically fit. It’s disgusting to see over weight unfit officers that can’t run on duty. Yet even though there are many over weight unfit truck drivers they still have yearly or every other year physical exams. If the government wants physically drivers then drivers should have health insurance where there is NO deductibles, out of pocket expenses. or office visit charges
