Convoy for a Cure
Drivers are signing up to help in the battle against breast cancer. The second annual Convoy for a Cure takes place on Oct. 16, starting off at 8 a.m. at the Terrell, Texas TA (I-20, Exit 503).
Women truckers will lead the convoy, followed by motorcyclists, and finally the men drivers. Anyone interested in participating can pre-register at the website or just come by on the day of the convoy to register. Entry fees are $75 per truck and $50 per motorcycle. Health screenings, raffles, speakers and a “Pink My Truck” decorating contest are part of the day’s festivities.
On that same day, a Convoy for a Cure will be rolling in Canada, at the Woodstock, Ont. TA (Provincial Hwy. 401, Exit 230).
Last year, Convoy for a Cure USA raised nearly $100,000 for breastcancer.org, a non-profit group dedicated to educating women about breast cancer.
