Imagine paying $400 in tolls for just one run across Pennsylvania and back. That could be the new reality for truckers if a Pennsylvania law is allowed to take effect. The tolling of I-80 will happen in 2011 if the Federal Highway Administration gives it the green light. On Oct. 24 the Wheeling, W. Va. TA won “best entrée” in a cookoff against six other restaurants at a business and restaurant show in nearby Elm Grove. On Oct. 4, truckers passing through Western Tennessee lost a dear friend. Bill Wilhite, Jr., of the Denmark TA, near Jackson, passed away at age 68. Wilhite began working at age 14 and never stopped until a heart attack in June hospitalized him.
