Imagine paying $400 in tolls for just one run across Pennsylvania and back. That could be the new reality for truckers if a Pennsylvania law is allowed to take effect. The tolling of I-80 will happen in 2011 if the Federal Highway Administration gives it the green light. On Oct. 24 the Wheeling, W. Va. TA won “best entrée” in a cookoff against six other restaurants at a business and restaurant show in nearby Elm Grove. TA’s Country Pride restaurant served up the prizewinning carved roast beef to about 150 guests, along with rolls, broccoli cheese rice casserole, chicken noodle soup and peach cobbler. His love for truckers made Wilhite’s TA special

On Oct. 4, truckers passing through Western Tennessee lost a dear friend. Bill Wilhite, Jr., of the Denmark TA, near Jackson, passed away at age 68. Wilhite began working at age 14 and never stopped until a heart attack in June hospitalized him.
